Red, white and blue is a classic color combination that makes our hearts swoon. Not only is it an American favorite, it also signifies summer (think fireworks, barbecues and pool parties too). Accent your home in this traditional color scheme yearlong or switch out lamps, pillows and rugs for a summer update just in time for the 4th!

Looking for a real knockout in the garden? This month, we’re all about the knockout rose at The Home Depot® and so are our friends at Bell Nursery, an exclusive provider for The Home Depot®.
Knockout roses are considered a shrub rose great for landscapes or pretty pots. Choose pink, yellow, white or the most common color, red. Blooming much of the year, they thrive in hot, dry locations. And in colder climates, knockout roses bloom from spring straight through fall’s first heavy frost.
When it comes to planting, Bell Nursery suggests a few key tips:
1. Plant them in full sun (six or more hours)
2. Allow them to dry completely between watering
3. Water the dirt instead of the foliage
4. Be sure to have drip irrigation if planted in a pot
