With the move from indoors to outdoors on the rise, it’s only natural to dream of a comfortable place to bask when creating or updating your outdoor space. So take tips from an expert outdoors[wo]man. She’s highlighted her favorites from this year’s outdoor lineup. Martha Stewart Living™ Lake Adela Six-Piece Seating Set – The Surf color option for the cushions is very relaxing and the distressed wicker option is so on trend right now. Grecian Urn Planter and Acanthus Urn Planter – Each are made of fiberglass and are lightweight. The sandstone and slate finishes are great additions to any outdoor space. French Bistro Three-Piece Set – This rust-free, lightweight aluminum set is inspired by indoor French bistro chairs. Follie Three-Piece Bistro Set – This is such a great value! It’s a fun addition to any urban or small outdoor space. Martha Stewart Living™ Lake Carolina Six-Piece Deep Seating Set – The Smoked Natural finish option is so timeless and is an economical alternative to teak furniture. FROM AFTERNOON PINNING TO CONTEST WINNING She’s well-spoken, classy and stylish. Tori Sodek, winner of our “Be a Guest Stylist” Pinterest contest, has a knack for decorating. Although we had a tough decision to make when picking the winner, Tori’s look stood out and turned into one beautiful bedroom when shot by our photographers. We interviewed her to learn more about her style and, of course, what all she’s going to do with her prized gift card. 1.    We were big fans of the look you created for our “Be a Guest Stylist” Pinterest contest. What was your inspiration?  I wanted to achieve a bedroom that was light but still warm. I love layering traditional items like the crisp tailored bedding with more exotic, primitive pieces like the headboard. The area rug was my inspiration for the color palette. 2.    Can you describe your personal style?  I think my personal style is casual yet classic. I love a cardigan or a great jacket with a crisp white button down and jeans! 3.    How would your describe your interior decorating style? My decorating style has definitely evolved over the last 20 years. When I was first married, I insisted that my husband get rid of his very traditional cream-colored camelback sofa so that we could keep my futon. (What was I thinking?)  Fast forward 20 years and I have a very traditional home. I try to maintain the feel of that but with some modern touches, colors and finishes.  4.    Which room in your home is your favorite and why? Our kitchen is definitely my favorite room of our house. It is where everyone gathers. We remodeled it a few years ago, and it is light and bright with a huge bay window that looks out into our gardens. It is definitely my “happy place.” 5.    What’s your favorite item in your home? I had some built-in bookcases constructed in my living room, and they completely changed the entire look of the room. I love being able to change out the books and artwork I have displayed there. It keeps the room fresh! 6.    How do you plan to use your gift card?  There are so many great items to choose! I am going to make a few updates to some of my existing furnishings and accessories and just have fun with it! I may also let my husband get a little something for his backyard retreat at The Home Depot®. He’s been really supportive of my home decorating choices over the years!  We’re still very excited about the room shot around Tori’s look.
